Trying to decide, given that travel really does expand people’s minds, whether air travel really is the evil some environmentalists claim.

I am planning to travel around India for two months in September. I would be going with my boyfriend so we would be sharing a room. It would be nice to do it quite cheaply, but probably not staying in hostels all the time, but apparently b&b type accomodation is quite cheap. We are not extravagant but would not be too frugal either.
The cost would include accomodation, meals, sightseeing, travel within the country, but not flights to India (which is approx £500).
Any advice from people who have travelled round India would be greatly appreciated.

For clarification, I am NOT asking how much it costs to travel the whole length. Please do not tell me it costs $10.25, because that is NOT the answer I am looking for.
I am planning to travel a ~45 mile section of the Ohio Turnpike tomorrow (my exit is 110, so I am guessing I get on around exit 64-65). Any idea how much it would price to travel this section of the Turnpike? I merely desire to make sure I have the right amount of cash/change on me. Thanks!

I am a young lady intending to travel next yr to Europe and go backpacking around Europe. I love to shop whenever I arrive at a untried place & I merely cannot help but buy.
